Brad Young leaves heartfelt message to Hartlepool United following his departure to Leicester City

The 19-year-old goalkeeper has been highly rated at Pools for the past couple of years, earning a call up to the England under-19s squad and also spending time on trial at Chelsea and Leicester.

Despite being heavily linked with a move to The Blues last season, it was The Foxes who were able to secure Young’s signature with Pools netting a healthy, albeit undisclosed, transfer fee.

Following the confirmation of his departure from Hartlepool, Young tweeted: “Thank you for all the messages and big thank you to everyone who I’ve worked with over the six years, I appreciate everything.

"I’ve made memories and friends that will last a lifetime. To the staff, players and fans thank you it’s been a pleasure. Not a bad way to finish UTP!”

Young will now join up with Leicester’s development squad ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
