Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock expects transfer business to pick up next week after the international window has closed.

Boro are still looking to sign one or two more players before the end of the transfer window, most likely on loan from Premier League clubs.

The Teessiders and their Championship rivals have until October 16 to sign players on loan from other English clubs, an extension which should prove useful in a challenging financial backdrop.

Wolves defender linked

Transfer speculation has gone a little quiet over the last few weeks, yet Boro have recently been linked with Wolves defender Oskar Buur.

The 22-year-old right-back made his Premier League debut last month and has been on the cusp of Nuno Espirito Santo's squad.

Yet the arrival of right-back Nelson Semedo from Barcelona at Molineux has pushed Buur down the pecking order and it’s thought he will be allowed to leave on loan.

According to Birmingham Live, Boro and Brentford are monitoring the situation, while Belgian club Royal Antwerp and Dutch side FC Volendam are also interested.

Kenneth Zohore latest

At one stage in the window Boro were one of the clubs being heavily linked with West Brom striker Kenneth Zohore.

The 26-year-old played under Warnock at Cardiff, yet, despite praising the frontman in one press conference, the Boro boss also said the forward is on a "very lucrative contract".

Suggestions Zohore could sign for Boro appeared to end when the Teessiders brought in Chuba Akpom last month, yet Sheffield Wednesday still appears a potential destination.

According to the Sun, Wednesday have offered a 'stunning £25,000-a-week loan package’ for Zohore, while reports from Sheffield are claiming the striker has a few options.

Wednesday recently signed striker Callum Paterson from Cardiff.

Former Boro man could land dream move

Finally, former Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah could be offered his dream move to QPR.

The 32-year-old is out of favour at Nottingham Forest and has been training away from the first team since returning from a loan spell at Cardiff.

Adomah grew up a QPR fan and, according to TeamTalk, Rangers are ready to make an offer for the wideman.
