Car overturns in collision on busy Hartlepool road

Two drivers have been taken to hospital after one of their cars was left on its roof in a collision on a Hartlepool road.

The incident happened on Catcote Road, near to the junction of Brierton Lane and close to the Farm Foods store, shortly before 2.20pm.

The collision involved a grey Vauxhall Corsa and a black VW Polo.

Both drivers were taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in a double-crewed ambulance sent by the North East Ambulance Service.

The road was closed off and a diversion put in place while the scene was cleared.
