Key dates for Middlesbrough's academy as pre-season friendlies are announced

Middlesbrough’s under-23 side will travel to several North East clubs during pre-season as they gear up for the 2021/22 campaign.

Graeme Lee’s team will play their first match of the summer on Tuesday, July 13 (7:30pm kick-off), when a combined under-23/18 squad will face Northern League Division One side West Auckland Town at Darlington Road.

Boro’s under-23 side will then face National League North outfit Blyth Spartans at Croft Park on Saturday 17 July (3pm kick-off), before a meeting with Redcar Athletic on Wednesday, 21 July (7pm kick-off).

The match against Redcar will also see Boro field a under-18/under-23 side and will mark the official opening of the club’s new facilities.

The under-23 side also have matches scheduled against Northern Premier League team Dunston UTS (Wednesday, 28 July - 7pm kick-off) and National League North side Darlington (Sunday, 1 August - 1pm kick-off).

Ticket information will be available in due course from the host clubs.
