Hartlepool United boss Dave Challinor reveals Gary Liddle injury latest
The 34-year-old was absent from Pools’ matchday squad against Altrincham on Tuesday evening, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park.
Liddle had been out with a groin injury before returning to the starting 11 against Ilkeston. He got a full 90 minutes under his belt, which suggested he got through the match unscathed.

Hide AdHowever, Liddle suffered a reaction after the 6-0 victory and was forced to watch on from the sidelines as Ben Killip saved an injury-time penalty to maintain Pools’ unbeaten start to the season.
Pools host Torquay United at Victoria Park on Saturday (KO 5.20pm) in a televised BT game but they will once again be without Liddle, who is facing a spell out the side.
A frustrated Challinor said: “We are going to get a scan with him, it is a frustrating one.
“We’d asked him the question as we didn’t want to rush him back, there was no need to, it was an FA Cup game and probably we thought it would be physically less demanding with the team we were coming up against being lower divisions.

Hide Ad“We asked him for definite if he was okay, he said he was okay.
“Got through the game then got a message on the Sunday to say he’d had a reaction and he could be out a few weeks, it is a frustrating one.
“He is old enough and experienced enough to know his own body, he felt he was fine, to have a reaction in the way he had leaves us one defender short and puts him out of the picture for a few weeks.
“As much as he felt right, there was a reaction to it.
“We will get him scanned and get a definitive on how long he will be out,” the Pools boss told BBC Tees.
